Hi GF,
I came into possession of a very nice Turner Expander 500 with a tone control. People's complaint about this mic (although it has a very effective compressor) is that the tone control removes highs as you add lows. It's not really a tone control in the conventional sense.
Do you know of any mods to make it have a more full (highs and lows) sound? I think if I could figure that out the compression and punch would make it sound great behind a cap modded 148 or 2000!
The only mod I found online for the mic was cutting one of the 2 diodes in the compressor circuit to disable the AMC.
