Receive

Lower the value of C39 for more highs
Change C78, C40 and C185 to 2.2uF or 4.7uF non-polarized electrolytic. Use the higher value for more low end extension.
To add more highs change C184 to a .001uF ceramic disc

Transmit

To open up the modulation limiter on AM only, Remove Q57

Need more gain for running a stock mic or noise cancelling mic?
Change R-176 from a 270K stock, to a 470K.

Want more Bass?
Change C-154, a .22uF 16V tantalum, to a 3.3uF 16V tantalum.
Change C-171 and C-235 to 1uF 50-100 volt Mylar or Non-polar electrolytic.

For even more Bass.

To give the mic amp some bass boost, change C-153 to a 2.2uF or 3.3uF i6 volt or higher electrolytic. Observe polarity. Each change gives a lot of boost.
Change C-238 to a 330uF, 25 volt electrolytic. Observe polarity.

the 2.2uF non-polarized and the 10uF tantalum available it Radio Shack.

Direct inject through a 10uF into the R264/R265 end of C235

Does the 6900 series board sound good with the am mod limiter removed?

yes, sorta found this out on my own. Did the hi fi mod to a superstar ss39 with ept6900 board. Removed q57 and got great audio reports. So I guess the answer is yes. Thanks smiley

This mod lists to caps for adding bass to the TX, but what about more highs?

Radio in question is a Galaxy 2547, but assume these instructions will be the same.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, 31.

I see a cap listed to decrease in value or remove for receive highs... but not for additional highs on TX?
