opening up a galaxy DX 2517

TX widening:
Change C154 to a 4.7 uF, 16V tantalum. Observe polarity

Change C171 and C235 to 2.2 uF, 250 V mylar/polyester film. They are pretty good size and kind of close together so you will have to custom bend the leads.

can the audio go into the echo board and not be chocked up

The echo board does choke it some. What I usually do is cut the audio wire from the input plug and output plug on the echo board and tie them together leaving enough of a pigtail on the board to re-connect later if need be.

Just to be clear, connect the wires together coming from the main PC board. Just insulate the pigtails coming from the echo board and let them hang.

C295 = Left side near the back, right above L40 tuning can. It's actually touching L40 by the schematic you linked above.

Section B1 on the schematic.

I dunno - you need to verify that with Goldfinger. I was only telling you where the C295 cap was that you asked about.

i was looking at the info on the 55hp and the one on 2517 should be c235 the schematic has a mis print

Yes, it's C235. On the schematic it looks like C295. Sorry for the mixup.
