does anybody here knows what goes bad on a astatic 575 m6 mic
i check every wire with an ohm meter wires are ok new batt and i have no audio coming out when i try to talk tried 2 radios same thing is there away to test the mic element.??? thanks

Key the mic with the back off and the battery in, with the gain at full.
Touch just the positive terminal on the back of the diaphragm with your finger. If you get a hum or squeal in your transmit then the amplifier is working and the element is bad.

An ohmmeter can't really check a high impedance crystal/ceramic element.

thats right , educated easter egg hunt . thats what my high school electronics teacher called it .
works well . as long as you know what the eggs look like . :wink:

ok it seems that the previous owner had it all apart and when he try to put it back he didn't put the element back the right way when he tighten the screw that holds the board in it would short out against the tone and volume pot put it back now she works thanks for all the replies
