Anytone 5555n II
Anyone have a schematic for the new AnyTone 5555n II (new board, same as 955 v2, CRT 7900, 5555 plus, KPO 5000) was hoping to get GoldFinger's help finding which caps to fatten up for wider RX/TX on this radio.

hifi rx/tx mods for Stryker 497hpc?
Goldfinger or anyone else,
What cap mods would you make to a Stryker 497HPC to open up bandwidth on rx and tx?
Thanks!

Re: turner m+3 mic
This mod seems to work excellent. I can definitely tell a difference in low-end frequency response on my modified M+3 vs. stock when running them on a 29 modified for wide transmit. Excellent!

Thank you. I had seen that thread but wasn't sure 201/201A were the same in the right places. I'll go study schematics now

Tram D201A?
Hi GF,
Been away from the radio stuff for a bit but have a new radio I want to bless with better audio. Do you know the caps to fatten up on a Tram D201A RX & TX?
Thanks as always and happy holidays

Re: Request - Stryker 955 cap mods
What are the smallest/lightest caps for the replacements that don't call for E caps I could use here? I'm thinking trim & bend the leads to be short where I can put a bit of glue/cement to hold the cap down to the board once it's soldered to the existing SMT part.

Didn't even realize the obvious answer. I was thinking more along the lines of subtle differences between the audio chips bandwidth. Thanks

GF,
Why do you recommend changing C125 on the newer Corbra 29s and not the older ones?
I was doing up a Mfg. in 2003 Dale E. Cobra 29 w/ old style audio chip today and wondering...

What caps do you need to fatten up to make the tx/rx wide on a Stryker 955?
Link to super annoying multi-level schematic (only one I can find):

Breaker, Breaker Goldfinger... Was your mic stuck together? I found two cherry JM + 3 mics would love to fatten the audio up.

Echo board with widest response?
I've noticed the echo board in the Stryker 955 seems to clamp down on the audio bandwidth a bit when it's on vs. when it's off (at least with my ears) I was thinking it may be a good mod to install an aftermarket echo board with a wider response (or at least easier to modify with through-hole parts)...

Interesting! I thought it was just the 500 roger beeps that were microprocessor controlled in this radio, LOL. Thanks for the reply, Goldfinger!

VFO wind up for Stryker 955?
Hey GF - or anyone reading this.
Can someone tell me how I'd go about adding a VFO wind up toy (cap) to a Stryker 955? I'm about to do up a Stryker 955 with optional Direct Inject and I think it'd be cool to have a VFO wind up on a switch.
Thanks!

Cobra 29 LX - C43?
I was just working on a Cobra 29 LX mfg. in 2014 that has spot marked for C43 (near L3) but has no part in the spot. C43 is part of the TX side of the hifi mods for the 29. Should I put a part in this spot in this situation or leave it blank like I found it? (This was a factory new radio) Thanks for...

Do you run the JP36 mod on your wide 29?
I will try the C73 experiment out and let you know what I find.

Cobra 29 AMC & Hifi
Goldfinger, I know I've read that you prefer keeping the AMC in tact and setting it so it's still limiting just a little (~105% modulation) rather than completely disabling with the hifi mod. Reason being that the mod transformer has bad response below 100hz and severely clipping/overmodulating with...

Re: Turner +3 widen audio?
What effect would making this cap smaller in value, like he suggests (possibly because he couldn't find one closer to the original, or make it fit?) 1x 2.2uF MKC 1862 poly type capacitor (replaces 5uF from volume control wiper to white wire audio output) Would it decrease low bass frequencies? I see...

Re: Turner +3 widen audio?
That makes sense. I happened to stumble across this thread on worldwidedx.com, this guy talks about replacing the caps in a Turner +3 with high end audiophile type caps to make the mic sound better than stock (so he says) --- Rebuilding the microphone to sound better than new only requires a few sel...
